I am a concern mother at the same time teacher, but at present I am not working due to my health condition. Since I don't have a job and unfortunately a single mother I enrolled my daughter in a public school. At first it's ok or shall I say smooth sailing. But come 2nd week of July a teacher in grade 1 gave birth. But before that we are being advised or shall I say again rest assured by the principal that they have a substitute if in case the teacher gives birth. Now, last July 3, 2009 the teacher gave birth, that day her students including the parents are in the states of confusion for they do not know what do. Some parents decided to get their children since they don't know what to do and where they can put their children. The dilemma last for several days to the extents that the parents themselves put their children in other sections where there is space or a vacant chair for children. The concerned parents asked some teacher " kung pano na ang kanilang mga anak?" the teacher answered " wala daw po na maibibigay ang deped na substitute kasi wala daw pong budget or pambayad sa teacher na ipapalit!" The parents looked for the principal but to no avail they could not find her even if she's there the parents could not talked to her. Imagine yung mga grade 1 students kung saan saan na lang pinapasok ng mga parents para matuto. But the problem is kung sa araw pag pasok ng bata iba ibang section ang pinapasukan walang continuity sa learning kasi iba-ibang section iba-iba ang topic. So the school made a solution to that problem, all the students of that teacher are being distributed to other section at iniligay nila yun sa labas ng gate para malaman ng mra parents kung saan nila ipapasok ang kanilang mga anak. So it created a small commotions since sabi parents maninibago ang mga bata and besides grade 1 lang sila. Ang sabi pa ng school for two months lang naman daw! You don't need to be a psychology to know that there will be a great impact to the children dun sa ginawa nilang solution. Kasi pag balik ng teacher iipunun ulit ang mga bata so panibago na namang adjustment on the childrens part. Wala po bang ibang alternative solution for that. Merong ilang bata na ayaw ng pumasok kasi ayaw doon sa napuntahan nyang section. Parang ang concentration natin ay nasa highschool lamang at na ooverlooked natin ang ating foundation. Kasi kung sa foundation pa lang di na siiya matibay paano pag tuamaas ang gusali, probably di nya kakayanin ang buong bigat kung mahina ang kanyang foundation. Please mak an effort to looked our grade 1 students if they are being taking care of properly. Tapos nagtataka tayo bakit mahihina ang mga graduates natin sa highschool at colleges? so pinaka maganda siguro alagaan natin ang buto na kakatanim pa lang para paglumaki at kaya ng mag bunga marami tayong aanihin o kaya pakikinabangan. Kagaya ng mga grade 1 students na ito dapat alagaan para pagdating ng panahon na sila na ang bibigay ng bunga sa atin anng bungang maibibigay nila sa atin ay masustansiya. So deped paki tignan nyo naman po sana ang maliit na problemang ito. There is a saying " small things are small things, but when you put them together it will become one big thing."
